Your Career Story Is The Yarn That Weaves Customers In.

Your career story, inclusive of your inspirations, failures, trials and tribulations, and other parts of your "building a business" adventure, are part of what will humanize your company. People are fascinated by stories as much as they are by products and services. If your tale is humorous....so much the better.

Be certain to personally mention and complement any mentors (even teachers, camp counselors, and commanding officers) whom were there to set you on the right path. Amazingly, prospective clients and customers are fatigued being bombarded with sales pitches, slogans and brands -- these are crucial, but not sufficient.

People are fascinated in stories -- especially about other people. People want your story as much as they want your product, service, buzz and brand. They do. Tell it -- with gusto, peaks and valleys, and with a pause, every so often, to laugh at yourself.

Some of us remember Hugh Hefner as much as we remember Playboy Magazine. Of course, I, personally don't.......

Never underestimate the power of a Human Interest Story (our Humanity binds us) or of old-fashioned curiosity -- people want to see the wizard behind the curtain.
