7 Fabulous Mobile Commerce Strategies - Mobilize To Monetize

Share this ARTICLE with your colleagues on LinkedIn .

Mobile marketing is here to stay, and it is rapidly becoming the primary means of interacting socially and engaging in commerce for the 14-year old to the 40-year old demographic in the industrialized nations and many parts of Asia -- it is also becoming increasingly adopted by those over 40 and Baby Boomers. If you want to stay in business, you had best become acquainted with these simple, yet highly effective mobile marketing strategies.

Bear in mind, that it is no longer good enough for your website to mobile-friendly, or accommodating (self re-fitting) to all of the various mobile devices. It has to be Mobile-Centric [an unoriginal Lingovation] and not a mere adjunct or extension of your website -- your mobile marketing presence applications, protocols, campaigns, e-commerce viability are the nuclei of your business branding, messaging and marketing efforts...many of your customers or clients will never get to see your website on a PC or notebook. They do their research, shopping, purchasing and communicating on their mobile devices. And those devices are with them all of the time.

Your Mobile Commerce Strategies - Mobilize To Monetize:

1.  Be certain that your designing and programming personnel are experienced in the areas of mobile applications and creating media for mobile devices. The old-school template-pushers might waste your time and money trying to learn a completely different type of coding and interfacing -- don't let these folks learn while you pay their tuition;

2. Be certain that your mobile site is automatically conforming to any type of mobile device (and there are many of them). If done properly, it is as your mobile-centric site could "know" what user equipment is summoning it. [Sounds a bit like a genie in a bottle, doesn't it?]

3. Customers should be able to navigate your mobile site to precisely what they are interested in (quick, easy navigation is critical), and to make a purchase directly from their devices.

4. You should use a mailing list handler and auto-responder so that visitors to your mobile site can join a mailing list to receive notices of future promotions, new developments, and sales or awareness campaign notifications.

5. Your site must have its own unique QR Code. This code should be placed on your website, your packaging, your displays -- everywhere a mobile device can take a picture of it -- these codes are the instant gateways to your mobile website.

6. As an added convenience, have a texting service which allows a prospective visitor to receive your inbound texts (by dialing a number and putting a sequence of letters into the field which gives you 'permission' to connect with his or her mobile tool) and to access your mobile website in the absence of his or her having an url or a QR Code. Texts are great for reminders, announcements, alerts, invitations and for order confirmations, too.

7. You might also consider putting your QR Code in a conspicuous place (unframed and isolated) on your website or blog site. There are services which permit you to create these codes. Use your favorite search engine to look up QR Code + Generators. Besides being useful, it looks kind of snazzy. And readers of The Mad Marketing Tactics Blog like snazzy things.

Here's a sample QR Code:

Looks cool, doesn't it? Snag a picture of it with your mobile device and see what you can do.
